- El Torreon Hacienda & Fortress
- This could be dubbed "the newest old place in Taos". The little torreon was constructed in 1820 and Hacienda was completed in 1847. Now a commercial venture, it was restored in 2001 & 2002 El Torreon Hacienda is available for lease for 4 upscale retail stores and / or crafts display. First-Class Antonio's - A Taste of Mexico restaurant, featuring real Mexican cuisine, is located at El Torreon Hacienda. Worth a look at this site for the animations and photo galleries. Reporters Note: The historic El Torreon Hacienda itself is the actual museum, in this case, rather than having rooms containing old things.
- Kit Carson Home and Museum
- One of the most exciting careers in the American West. The Kit Carson Home and Museum today contains a portion of Carson's original home, and artifacts and exhibits which illustrate the life story of Carson.
- La Hacienda de los Martinez
- One of the few northern New Mexico style, late Spanish Colonial period "Great Houses" remaining in the American Southwest. Built in 1804, the Hacienda has twenty-one rooms surrounding two courtyards. La Hacienda de los Martinez is one of the few remaining examples of a restored northern New Mexico style, Spanish Colonial period hacienda open to the public. This massive adobe casa mayor, or great house, was constructed sometime shortly after 1804, by Antonio Severino Martin (later to become Martinez). The casa mayor that Martinez built became the first permanent, year-round mercantile operation in Taos.

- Taos Art Museum
- In 1927 renowned Russian artist Nicolai Fechin [1881-1955] began building his new home here in Taos, New Mexico. Today the home and his studio stand as landmarks symbolizing the colorful history of art in Taos. The home and studio are filled with Fechin's woodcarvings of ornately carved doors, doorways and cabinets. Taos became an artist's "mecca" and home to the Taos Society of Arts. The Fechin home is on the National Register of Historic Places and the home and studio are the home of the Taos Art Museum. The Taos Art Museum is located in front of the Fechin Inn, two blocks from the Taos Plaza. Following the arrival of the this initial group of artists, the Taos area has grown to become a renowned international art market and artists' community. It is presently estimated that there are more artists, per capita, in the Taos area then in any other city in the world, including Paris France.
- The Harwood Foundation Museum

- Van Vechten - Lineberry Taos Art Museum
