The Taos Youth & Family Center is staffed and financially supported by the Town of Taos government. The Mayor and Town Council establish an annual budget for the Youth & Family Center to provide the recreational services, special events and facilities to the general public. The Youth & Family Center does not charge to be a member of the facility, and many services are provided free of charge, while small admission fees are charged for party room rental, swimming and skating. Taos Youth & Family Center provides year around recreational opportunities, special events, a free computer lab and wireless internet, as well as host a number of youth oriented events, dances, and daily programming for all ages. We work in conjunction with local sports organizations and volunteers to assist them in hosting athletic tournaments and competitions. The Taos Youth & Family Center is the home of the Taos High School Swim team and Ice Hockey team, as well as many other groups such as the Los Tigres Boxing Club and the Taos Knighthawks Chess Club, the Figure Skating Club of Taos. Members of our staff also serve in a volunteer capacity working with other youth activities including Little League Baseball and Taos Youth Football League , and our Special Events Coordinator works with them to host national events such as " MLB Pitch, Hit and Run" as well as " NFL Punt, Pass and Kick" . We are open to the general public serving the northern New Mexico region, and thousands of visitors annually.
