For over 100 years, Boys & Girls Club of America has been saving lives of youth in the United States and around the world. They are dedicated to helping youth become successful, civic-minded, responsible adults. The Boys & Girls Club of Northern New Mexico is a part of this wonderful tradition. We are providing youth with a safe environment to come and participate in positive activities. On a daily basis, our professional staff and volunteers dedicate themselves to helping youth take control of their lives, envision productive futures and realize their goals. Established in 1999, The Boys & Girls Club of Northern New Mexico is a youth development program for youth ages 6-18. All of our sites offer a safe place for these children to learn, play and develop citizenship and leadership skills. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of our members by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, beloning and power of influence, which is the Youth Development Strategy of the Boys & Girls Clubs. The Club focuses on five core areas of development: Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Social Recreation, and Education and Career. Focusing on these areas provides the children who participate the opportunity to engage in programs that will enable them to develop positive self images and reach their full potential. Every day members are helped with their homework, participate in organized sports, arts and crafts projects, and enjoy a nutritious snack. In addition to regular Club activities, members often attend field trips, have interesting and relevant guest speakers, and have a regular schedule of prevention workshops and teen support groups.
