Fine Adobe Custom Homes designed and built by Sara and Rick Edelman. Rick and Sara Edelman have been Taos residents since 1970. Sara came to Taos first and purchased a homesite on El Salto Road. She immediately took on her first project, the design and construction of an adobe residence which was later featured in the book "Mud, Space and Spirit" and also in the Sunday Home Section of the Los Angeles Times. Several years later the couple decided to design and build their first spec home on Taos Mesa and now have completed over 100 projects. Sara Edelman designs the homes, the floor plans, elevations, fireplaces, parapet details, chooses all the colors, tiles, cabinets, doors and all the finish details. She has her own line of furniture and home furnishings and is an accomplished oil painter as well. Rick Edelman handles the construction, finance, and land development aspects of the projects. Edelman Fine Adobe Homes' completed projects include Taos Mesa, Camino del Sol, Los Altos (possibly the largest all-adobe development in the US), Del Norte in Las Colonias, and currently the North Mesa Road Project near the Millicent Rogers Museum which will include 15 houses on 33 acres, 13 of which have been completed as of 2005. A future project is in the planning stages for a section of the Mariposa Ranch in Des Montes.
