Trish Booth
"With rich, vivid colors and heavy contrast, Booth renders southwestern landscapes in a way that makes them seem hyper-real
and surreal all at the same time."- Dubious Profundity. I grew up on my family's wheat and cattle ranch in Montana's Highwood Mountains. The Big Sky Country, along with the ranch buildings, barns, and bunkhouses made a lasting impression. The wide open spaces and abandoned buildings fed the sensibilities of a young imagination. During my youth, generations of family ranching came to an end as my grandparents sold the ranch and retired. My immediate family returned to Oregon for a somewhat more urban experience.
I attended the San Francisco Art Institute, matriculating in 1988. I remained in the Bay Area until 2007, when my husband and I relocated to Truchas, NM, in pursuit of a studio with a view and full-time painting opportunities. Ghost Pony Gallery: 1634 State Highway 76, NM 87578
