Annamaria Abbink - Colorful Plein Air Paintings of the Southwest. Annamaria Abbink was born in Munich German. AnnaMaria created pottery for 13 years, then in 1970 Annamaria and her husband Bill moved to Vail Colorado where together they opened a studio and gift-shop called "The Potter's Wheel" which she ran for 18 years. They also owned and managed a bed and breakfast called "The Bavarian Chalet". In 1995 they moved to Taos, New Mexico where they built an adobe house and studio. In a dramatic gesture Annamaria Abbink gave up pottery and took up oil painting with a passion; she is a full time painter now. Today, Annamaria Abbink paints from life, usually outdoors and the manner called "plein air" made so renowned by the 19th century impressionists. AnnaMaria's paintings sell to people from all around the world.
